New orders in manufacturing grew by 21.0 per cent year-on-year in November 2024
According to Statistics Finland, the value of new orders in manufacturing was 21.0 per cent higher in November 2024 than twelve months earlier. The value of new orders received by enterprises during January to November was 1.8 per cent lower than one year ago.

Changes in the examined main industries
Enterprises received more new orders in November 2024 than twelve months ago in the chemical industry and in the metal industry. New orders grew most in the metal industry, where the value of orders was 30.0 per cent higher than in the year before. The value of new orders in the chemical industry was 8.9 per cent higher than one year earlier. In the manufacture of paper, and paper and board products, orders declined by 0.8 per cent from one year ago.
When interpreting these statistics, it should be borne in mind that they typically show strong fluctuations by month. Even new orders of substantial value are not examined over extended time periods but for the statistical reference month only.
