New orders in manufacturing grew by 0.9 per cent year-on-year in September 2025
According to Statistics Finland, the value of new orders in manufacturing was 0.9 per cent higher in September 2025 than twelve months earlier. The value of new orders received by enterprises during January to September was 8.6 per cent higher than one year ago.

Changes in the examined main industries
Enterprises received more orders in September 2025 than twelve months ago in the metal industry and in the manufacture of paper, and paper and board products. New orders grew most in the metal industry, where the value of orders was 5.0 per cent higher than in the year before. In the manufacture of paper, and paper and board products, the value of new orders was 3.7 per cent higher than one year earlier. New orders in the chemical industry declined by 29.0 per cent from one year earlier.
When interpreting these statistics, it should be borne in mind that they typically show strong fluctuations by month. Even new orders of substantial value are not examined over extended time periods but for the statistical reference month only.
