Vessels in the regular merchant fleet numbered 611 in the first quarter of 2025

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the size of Finland's regular merchant fleet was 611 vessels in the first quarter of 2025. Small vessels included 178 vessels and barges and other engineless vessels 267 vessels. The total size of the Finnish merchant fleet was 1,056 vessels with gross tonnage of 1,901,350.

Key selections

  • Compared to the situation at the end of the last quarter of 2024, the number of vessels in the regular merchant fleet had decreased by 13 and the number of vessels in the entire combined merchant fleet by 39 by the end of the first quarter of 2025.
  • The Register of Merchant Vessels, in which vessels operating mainly in foreign traffic can be entered, contained a total of 99 vessels in the first quarter of 2025.
