Vessels in the regular merchant fleet numbered 605 in the third quarter of 2025

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the size of Finland's regular merchant fleet was 605 vessels in July to September 2025. Small vessels included 173 vessels and barges and other engineless vessels 269 vessels. The total size of the Finnish merchant fleet was 1,047 vessels with gross tonnage of 1,885,653.

Key selections

  • Compared to the situation at the end of the last quarter of 2024, the number of vessels in the regular merchant fleet had decreased by 19 and the number of vessels in the entire combined merchant fleet by 48 by the end of the third quarter of 2025.
  • The Register of Merchant Vessels, in which vessels operating mainly in foreign traffic can be entered, contained a total of 99 vessels in the third quarter of 2025.
