Share of research and development expenditure of gross domestic product 3.2 per cent in 2024

According to Statistics Finland, research and development expenditure amounted to EUR 8.9 billion in 2024. Expenditure increased by EUR 453 million from 2023, which represents a growth of 5.4 per cent. Expenditure grew by 5.9 per cent in the enterprise sector, by 1.7 per cent in the government sector and by 5.2 per cent in the higher education sector.
