Control calculation did not change the result in the County elections 2025

The election result did not change in the control calculation. The Social Democratic Party was the biggest party in the County elections with 22.5 per cent of all votes cast. Detailed election results can be found in Statistics Finland’s StatFin database.

The Social Democratic Party, National Coalition Party and Centre Party the biggest parties in the County elections 2025.
The Social Democratic Party, Green League, Left Alliance, Christian Democrats, Centre Party and Swedish People's Party increased their support.

Voting turnout was 51.7 per cent .
An exceptionally high number of votes were found invalid.

Voting turnout rose from the previous County elections

Voting turnout was 51.7 per cent and it rose by 4.2 percentage points from the previous County elections. Once again, women voted more actively than men, women's voting percentage was 54.9 per cent, which is 6.4 percentage points higher than men’s.

The popularity of advance voting fell from the County elections 2022. Of those who voted, 52.6 per cent cast their votes in advance, which is 3.2 percentage points lower than in the previous elections.

Many invalid ballots

A total of 81,966 ballots were found invalid in the elections, which is 74,829 votes more than in the previous County elections. The most common reason for invalidity is the unclearly written number of the candidate, in 56.1 per cent of all invalid ballots. Empty ballot papers constitute 19.7 per cent of invalid ballots.
