Accrual of environmental taxes fell by 5.4 per cent in 2023

According to Statistics Finland, the accrual of environmental taxes was EUR 6.2 billion in 2023, which was 5.4 per cent lower than one year earlier. The growth was particularly due to energy taxes, the accrual of which was 4.7 per cent lower than one year previously. By contrast, the accrual of resource taxes grew by 3.8 per cent from the previous year.
