Number of marriages entered into grew slightly in 2024

According to Statistics Finland, 21,420 marriages were entered into in 2024. The number of marriages entered into increased by 727 from the previous year. A total of 20,995 marriages between opposite-sex spouses were entered into, which is 675 more than in the year before. Same-sex couples entered into 425 marriages, 52 more than in the previous year.
