According to Statistics Finland, the current account was in surplus in July 2025. The value of goods exports in balance of payments terms grew by 23 per cent year-on-year. There was net capital inflow to Finland from abroad.

Current account
The current account was EUR 1.5 billion in surplus in July 2025. The 12-month moving total of the current account was EUR 4.0 billion in surplus.
Of the sub-items of the current account, the goods account in balance of payment terms was EUR 2.0 billion in surplus. The value of goods exports in balance of payments terms grew by 23 per cent year-on-year and was EUR 7.9 billion. The value of goods imports in balance of payments terms fell by two per cent year-on-year to EUR 5.9 billion. The service account was EUR 0.7 billion in deficit.
The primary income account was EUR 0.4 billion in surplus. The secondary income account was EUR 0.2 billion in deficit.
Financial account
In July net capital inflow to Finland from abroad amounted to EUR 2.2 billion. Of the functional categories of the financial account, net capital inflow was highest in the form of other investments (EUR 3.7 billion).
Net capital outflow from Finland to abroad was highest in the form of portfolio investments (EUR 1.4 billion).
