Exports and imports of services increased in the fourth quarter of 2024

According to Statistics Finland, the value of service exports increased by 18 % in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to the corresponding quarter of the year before. The value of service imports increased by 7 % over the same period. The value of service exports was EUR 10.4 billion and service imports EUR 12.2 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024.

  • Imports of goods and services increased by EUR 0.9 billion (3 %) from previous year.
  • The value of goods exports decreased by EUR 1.1 billion and the value of goods imports remained at the same level from previous year. The balance of trade in goods was EUR 2.1 billion in surplus.
  • The services account strengthened by EUR 0.8 billion from previous year and was EUR 1.7 billion in deficit.
  • Exports of services increased significantly due to increase in exports of telecommunications, computer and information services and charges for the use of intellectual property.
