Number of young people’s household-dwelling units increased in the third quarter of 2025

According to Statistics Finland, there were 2,859,000 household-dwelling units at the end of September 2025. The number grew by 6,700 household-dwelling units in July to September. The number of household-dwelling units of people aged under 30 went up most, by over six thousand.

Key selections

  • In September 2025, the number of household-dwelling units with one, two and three persons grew compared to the June data. The number of household-dwelling units with at least four persons decreased.
  • The number of household-dwelling units increased most in Uusimaa, Southwest Finland and Pirkanmaa.
