Population and societyAccording to Statistics Finland, the region that received most migration gain from persons with foreign background was Uusimaa, to which 97,000 persons with foreign background moved from abroad and 38,500 from other regions in 2020 to 2024. The total net migration of persons with foreign background in Uusimaa was 91,600 persons, which is clearly the biggest migration gain from persons with foreign background among the regions of Finland.
