releaseAccording to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, Finland's population was 5,651,171 at the end of May 2026. During January-May Finland's population decreased by 1,710 persons. The decrease in population was due to natural decline. The number of immigrants was 4,575 higher than that of emigrants. The number of births was 6,316 lower than that of deaths.
