According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, Finland's population was 5,659,324 at the end of August 2026. During January-August Finland's population increased by 6,443 persons. The reason for the population increase was migration gain from abroad. The number of immigrants was 13,643 higher than that of emigrants. The number of births was 7,162 lower than that of deaths.
