Rail freight traffic decreased by 9 per cent in the first quarter of 2026

According to Statistics Finland, 21.4 million trips were made in railway passenger transport in in the first quarter of 2026, which is 3 per cent more than in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. A total of 7.5 million tonnes of goods were transported in freight transport, which is 9 per cent less than in the corresponding quarter last year.
