Rail freight traffic decreased by 6 per cent in the second quarter of 2026

According to Statistics Finland, 20.5 million trips were made in railway passenger transport in in the second quarter of 2026, which is 2 per cent less than in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. A total of 7.1 million tonnes of goods were transported in freight transport, which is 6 per cent less than in the corresponding quarter last year.
