According to Statistics Finland, altogether 2.1 million passengers flew through Finnish airports in December 2025. The total number of passengers increased 8 per cent compared to December 2024. The number of passengers on domestic flights increased 6 per cent and the number of passengers on international flights increased by 8 per cent from the previous year.

Read more about the correctionIn December 2025, a total of 1.4 million passengers flew through Helsinki Airport and altogether 717,000 passengers flew through other domestic airports. Compared to December 2025, the total number of passengers was 8 per cent higher at domestic airports.
Of the air traffic passengers 78 per cent travelled on international flights and 22 per cent on domestic flights in December 2025. The share of passengers on international flights was 83 per cent at Helsinki Airport and 66 per cent in total at other domestic airports. Of all passengers, 88 per cent travelled on scheduled flights.
In December 2025, air freight and mail transport totalled 15,773 tonnes. In all, 100 per cent of the tonnes were transported through Helsinki Airport and 99 per cent in traffic between Finland and foreign countries. Altogether 6,856 tonnes (43%) of the transported volume of goods were incoming and 8,917 tonnes (57%) were outgoing.
In January to December 2025, a total of yhteensä 20.6 million passengers flew through Finnish airports, which was 4 per cent more than in 2024 during the same period.
From the beginning of 2025 the volume of freight and mail transport totalled 183,448 tonnes, which remained the same compared to January to December 2024.
