According to Statistics Finland, altogether 1.8 million passengers flew through Finnish airports in March 2026. The total number of passengers increased 7 per cent compared to March 2025. The number of passengers on domestic flights increased 5 per cent and the number of passengers on international flights increased by 8 per cent from the previous year.

Number of passengers on Finnish airport increased from last year

In March 2026, a total of 1.4 million passengers flew through Helsinki Airport and altogether 403,000 passengers flew through other domestic airports. Compared to March 2026, the total number of passengers was 7 per cent higher at domestic airports.

Of the air traffic passengers 75 per cent travelled on international flights and 25 per cent on domestic flights in March 2026. The share of passengers on international flights was 84 per cent at Helsinki Airport and 44 per cent in total at other domestic airports. Of all passengers, 96 per cent travelled on scheduled flights.

In March 2026, air freight and mail transport totalled 15,735 tonnes. In all, 100 per cent of the tonnes were transported through Helsinki Airport and 100 per cent in traffic between Finland and foreign countries. Altogether 6,655 tonnes (42%) of the transported volume of goods were incoming and 9,080 tonnes (58%) were outgoing.

In January to March 2026, a total of yhteensä 5.3 million passengers flew through Finnish airports, which was 8 per cent more than in 2025 during the same period.

From the beginning of 2026 the volume of freight and mail transport totalled 46,183 tonnes, which was 7 per cent less than in January to March 2025.
