A total of 1.6 million passengers flew through Finnish airports in April 2026

Number of passengers on Finnish airport increased from last year

In April 2026, a total of 1.4 million passengers flew through Helsinki Airport and altogether 210,000 passengers flew through other domestic airports. Compared to April 2026, the total number of passengers was 5 per cent higher at domestic airports.

Of the air traffic passengers 82 per cent travelled on international flights and 18 per cent on domestic flights in April 2026. The share of passengers on international flights was 90 per cent at Helsinki Airport and 30 per cent in total at other domestic airports. Of all passengers, 98 per cent travelled on scheduled flights.

In April 2026, air freight and mail transport totalled 15,797 tonnes. In all, nearly 100 per cent of the tonnes were transported through Helsinki Airport and nearly 100 per cent in traffic between Finland and foreign countries. Altogether 6,923 tonnes (44%) of the transported volume of goods were incoming and 8,874 tonnes (56%) were outgoing.

In January to April 2026, a total of yhteensä 7.0 million passengers flew through Finnish airports, which was 7 per cent more than in 2025 during the same period.

From the beginning of 2026 the volume of freight and mail transport totalled 61,980 tonnes, which was 5 per cent higher than in January to April 2025.
