Producer prices for manufactured products rose by 4.6 per cent in April 2026 year-on-year

Producer prices for manufactured products went up by an average of 4.6 per cent from a year ago. The rise in the producer prices was particularly caused by higher prices of refined petroleum products and basic precious and other non-ferrous metals compared with last year's April. The increase in prices was curbed especially by the decrease in prices of paper and paper products and other chemical products from a year ago.

The export price index went up by 3.7 per cent in a year. The rise in export prices was especially due to higher prices of refined petroleum products and basic precious and other non-ferrous metals compared with last year’s April. The import price index went up by 6.7 per cent in a year. The increase in import prices was, in turn, especially caused by higher prices of crude petroleum and refined petroleum products compared with last year’s April. The rise in prices was curbed especially by the decrease in prices of other chemical products and food products.

The basic price index for domestic supply rose by 3.9 per cent and the basic price index for domestic supply including taxes went up by 2.7 per cent from a year ago.

From March to April, producer prices for manufactured products went up by 1.2 per cent. The increase in producer prices was particularly caused by the higher prices of refined petroleum products and electricity compared with the previous month. The rise in prices was curbed especially by the decrease in prices of precious metals and other chemical products compared with the previous month.
