Non-subsidised rents decreased by 0.8 per cent in October to December 2025

According to Statistics Finland, rents of non-subsidised dwellings decreased by 1.3 per cent in Greater Helsinki and by 0.5 per cent the rest of Finland in a year in October to December 2025. The rents of non-subsidised rental dwellings rose most in Rovaniemi (0.8%), Kotka (0.6%) and Kouvola (0.2%). The rents decreased most in Vaasa (-2.4%), Lappeenranta (- 1.7%) and Vantaa (-1.6%).

Key selections

  • Rents in non-subsidised dwellings have risen most from the previous year in one-room flats in Kotka (0.8%), in two-room flats in Rovaniemi (1.1%) and in family dwellings in Kotka (1.1%).
  • Rents of non-subsidised one-room flats decreased by 0.8 per cent in Greater Helsinki. Rents of one-room flats remained unchanged in the rest of Finland.
  • Rents of government-subsidised dwellings went up by 3.4 per cent in Greater Helsinki and by 2.4 per cent in the rest of the country in a year.
  • Rents of government-subsidised dwellings rose most in Joensuu by 5.3 per cent, in Mikkeli by 4.5 per cent and in Turku by 4.3 per cent.
