Gross domestic product grew by 0.4 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2025

According to Statistics Finland, the volume of Finland's gross domestic product grew in October to December 2025 by 0.4 per cent from the previous quarter. GDP adjusted for working days grew by 0.1 per cent compared to the fourth quarter of 2024. According to preliminary data compiled by Eurostat, GDP in the EU area grew by 0.3 per cent in October to December from the previous quarter.

Change

Starting from the May 2026 publication, the content of the current quarterly national accounts will be published as part of the new statistics on national accounts.

Key selections

  • In October to December 2025, private consumption grew by 0.4 per cent from the July to September level.
  • The volume of exports decreased by 4.1 per cent in October to December 2025 from the previous quarter. The volume of imports declined by 1.7 per cent.
  • Private investments grew by 1.6 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2025 from the previous quarter.
  • Public investments increased by 2.3 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2025 from the previous quarter’s level. Government consumption expenditure went down by 1.3 per cent.
  • Quarterly national accounts will be published as separate statistics for the last time on 27 February 2026.
