Growth in gross domestic product continued in the second quarter of 2026

According to Statistics Finland, the volume of GDP continued to develop on a growth track in April to June as well. No significant defence investments were recorded in the second quarter of 2026 and as a result, the accrual of taxes on products remained lower than in the previous quarter. The fairly strong growth in value added and the strong quarter for exports boosted the development of GDP. The vessel delivery recorded in the second quarter increases exports in the quarter but it has had an effect on the development of value added gradually over a long time period.
