Domestic leisure trips decreased in January 2026

According to Statistics Finland, around 1.0 million domestic leisure trips with overnight stay were made in January 2026. The number of leisure trips abroad was 0.4 million. Trips abroad include trips with overnight stay in the destination country, overnight cruises and same-day trips. The number of domestic leisure trips went down by around one tenth and that of leisure trips abroad grew slightly from the previous year.
