Domestic leisure trips grew in February 2026

According to Statistics Finland, around 1.2 million domestic leisure trips with overnight stay were made in February 2026. The number of leisure trips abroad was around 0.5 million. Trips abroad include trips with overnight stay in the destination country, overnight cruises and same-day trips. The number of domestic leisure trips grew by one fifth and that of leisure trips abroad also grew by one fifth from the previous year.

  • The number of domestic leisure trips with paid accommodation was 0.5 million, which is close on one tenth more than in February 2025.

  • Altogether 3.3 million overnight stays during leisure trips were recorded in Finland and 4.5 million abroad in February 2026.
