Domestic leisure travel decreased slightly in April 2026
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, around 1.4 million domestic leisure trips with overnight stay were made in April 2026. Around 0.6 million leisure trips abroad were made. Trips abroad include trips with overnight stay in the destination country, overnight cruises and same-day trips. The number of domestic leisure trips went down by nearly one tenth and that of leisure trips abroad grew by close on one tenth from the previous year.

- In April 2026, around 1.0 million domestic trips with free accommodation were made, which is nearly one tenth fewer than one year earlier.
- The number of domestic leisure trips with paid accommodation was 0.4 million, which is slightly fewer than in April 2025.
- The number of leisure trips abroad with overnight stay in the destination country was around 0.5 million, which is unchanged from the previous year.
- Altogether 4.5 million overnight stays during leisure trips were recorded in Finland and 3.7 million abroad in April 2026.
