Turnover in industry decreased by 1.8 per cent in December 2025

Turnover decreased in several main industries

Working day adjusted turnover decreased most in December in the electronic and electrical industry, by 20.5 per cent from the year before. Turnover in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply was 7.1 per cent lower than one year earlier. Turnover also decreased in the metal industry (-2.8%), in the textile, clothing and leather industry (-2.4%) and in the forest industry (-2.0%). In December, turnover grew in the chemical industry (8.1%), in mining and quarrying (2.9%) and in the food industry (0.7%).

Export turnover grew most in mining and quarrying

In December, growth in export turnover was strongest in the industry of mining and quarrying, up by 20.6 per cent from the previous year. Export turnover in the chemical industry was 15.0 per cent higher than one year previously. Export turnover decreased most from the year before in the electronic and electrical industry, by 24.1 per cent from twelve months earlier. Export turnover in the forest industry was 8.8 per cent lower and in the metal industry 4.8 per cent lower than one year earlier.

Domestic turnover grew most in December in the electronic and electrical industry, by 24.1 per cent from one year before. Domestic turnover in the forest industry went up by 15.7 per cent and in the metal industry by 9.5 per cent from one year ago. Domestic turnover in mining and quarrying decreased by 16.6 per cent and in the chemical industry by 7.3 per cent from one year back.

Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry decreased by 2.5 per cent in December 2025 compared to November. Turnover decreased by 0.5 per cent in November and grew by 0.9 per cent in October compared to the month before.
