According to Statistics Finland, working day adjusted turnover in industry (TOL BCD) increased by 11.9 per cent in February 2026 from February 2025.

Turnover increased in several main industries

Working day adjusted turnover grew in several main industries in February. The growth was strongest in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, up by 48.0 per cent from the year before. In the electronic and electrical industry, turnover grew by 21.3 per cent from one year ago. Turnover in mining and quarrying was 16.5 per cent higher than one year earlier.

Turnover also grew in the metal industry, by 13.2 per cent, and in the chemical industry, by 3.2 per cent from one year ago. Turnover decreased most in the forest industry, by 8.8 per cent from one year ago. Turnover in the textile, clothing and leather industry was 1.4 per cent lower and turnover in the food industry 1.1 per cent lower than in the previous year.

Export turnover grew most in mining and quarrying

In February, growth in export turnover was strongest in the industry of mining and quarrying, up by 25.8 per cent from the previous year. In the electronic and electrical industry, export turnover was 22.5 per cent higher and in the metal industry 16.1 per cent higher than one year earlier. Export turnover in the chemical industry grew by 4.1 per cent from the previous year. Export turnover decreased in three main manufacturing industries: in the forest industry by 11.3 per cent, in the textile, clothing and leather industry by 3.6 per cent and in the food industry by 0.8 per cent.

In February, domestic turnover grew most in the electronic and electrical industry, by 15.4 per cent from one year ago. In the metal industry, domestic turnover was 5.6 per cent higher than one year previously. Domestic turnover grew by 4.8 per cent in mining and quarrying. Domestic turnover in the chemical industry was 1.2 per cent higher and in the textile, clothing and leather industry 0.4 per cent higher than a year earlier. Domestic turnover decreased in the forest industry, by 2.5 per cent, and in the food industry, by 1.2 per cent from one year back.

Turnover grew in February from the month before

Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry grew by 3.3 per cent in February 2026 compared to January. Turnover grew by 4.7 per cent in January and decreased by 2.2 per cent in December from the month before.
