Turnover in industry grew by 14.6 per cent in July 2026

According to Statistics Finland, working day adjusted turnover in industry (TOL BCD) increased by 14.6 per cent in July 2026 from July 2025.

Turnover grew in almost all main industries

Adjusted for working days, turnover grew in nearly all main industries in July. The growth was strongest in the chemical industry and in the electronic and electrical industry, turnover in both industries growing by 31.9 per cent from one year ago. Turnover in the metal industry was 22.5 per cent higher than one year previously. Turnover also increased in mining and quarrying (5.8%), in the forest industry (1.4%), in the textile, clothing and leather industry (0.9%) and in the food industry (0.4%). Turnover decreased from one year back only in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-3.1%).

Export turnover grew in most main industries

Export turnover grew in most main industries in July from one year ago. Export turnover increased most in the chemical industry (39.3%) and in the electronic and electrical industry (36.7%). Export turnover in the metal industry was 27.3 per cent higher than one year before. Export turnover grew by 3.1 per cent in mining and quarrying and by 1.9 per cent in the forest industry. Export turnover decreased from one year ago in the food industry (-3.0%) and in the textile, clothing and leather industry (-1.7%).

Domestic turnover grew in all main industries in July from the previous year. The growth was strongest in the chemical industry, up by 18.1 per cent from one year earlier. Domestic turnover was 11.8 per cent higher in mining and quarrying and 8.7 per cent higher in the metal industry compared to the previous year. Domestic turnover also went up in the electronic and electrical industry (5.9%), the textile, clothing and leather industry (2.5%), the food industry (1.0%) and the forest industry (0.1%).

Turnover decreased in July from the previous month

Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry decreased by 0.8 per cent in July 2026 compared to June. Turnover grew by 3.0 per cent in June and by 0.6 per cent in May from the month before.
