In December 2025, enterprises received more orders than twelve months ago in the metal industry and in the chemical industry. New orders grew most in the metal industry, where the value of orders was 54.0 per cent higher than in the year before. The notable growth in the value of orders in the metal industry was generated by a few large orders. New orders in the chemical industry grew by 3.2 per cent from one year ago. In the manufacture of paper, and paper and board products, the value of new orders was 9.5 per cent lower than a year earlier.

Changes in the course of 2025

The value of new orders received by enterprises during 2025 was 5.7 per cent higher than in 2024. During 2025, orders grew only in the metal industry, where the value of orders was 8.8 per cent higher than in the previous year. The value of new orders in the whole of 2025 was 1.0 per cent lower in the manufacture of paper, and paper and board products and 2.0 per cent lower in the chemical industry than in 2024.
