New orders in manufacturing grew by 16.6 per cent year-on-year in June 2026
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, the value of new orders in manufacturing was 16.6 per cent higher in June 2026 than twelve months earlier. The value of new orders received by enterprises during January to June was 7.3 per cent higher than one year ago.

Changes in the examined main industries
Enterprises received more orders in June 2026 than twelve months ago in the metal industry and in the manufacture of paper, and paper and board products. New orders grew most in the metal industry, where the value of orders was 24.2 per cent higher than in the year before. In the manufacture of paper, and paper and board products, the value of new orders was 14.3 per cent higher than one year earlier. New orders in the chemical industry declined by 26.3 per cent from one year earlier.
When interpreting these statistics, it should be borne in mind that they typically show strong fluctuations by month. Even new orders of substantial value are not examined over extended time periods but for the statistical reference month only.
