Number of household-dwelling units decreased in the second quarter of 2026
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, there were 2,860,000 household-dwelling units at the end of June 2026. The number was 4,800 lower than in the first quarter of the year at the end of March. In the second quarter, the number of household-dwelling units of persons aged under 30 decreased most.

- In June 2026, the number of household-dwelling units of young people decreased most compared to the data for March 2026, by around 8,600. The number of household-dwelling units of people in other age groups grew.
- In the second quarter, the number of one-person and two-person household-dwelling units decreased. The largest decline was recorded among young people living alone. The number of household-dwelling units of at least three persons grew slightly in the second quarter.
- Compared to the previous quarter, the number of household-dwelling units grew in Uusimaa and Åland, while in the other regions the number of household-dwelling units decreased.
