Number of enterprise openings 11,700 in the first quarter of 2026
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, there were 11,740 enterprise openings in January to March 2026. At the same time, enterprise closures numbered 14,244. Compared to the corresponding period of the year before, the number of enterprise openings increased by 800 and the number of enterprise closures decreased by 7,200.

- In January to March 2026, there were 2,500 more enterprise closures than openings.
- The number of enterprise openings increased in each region except for Pirkanmaa, South Savo and Southwest Finland compared to the corresponding period of the year before.
- North Karelia was the only region where the number of enterprise openings was higher than the number of enterprise closures.
