Culture: Changes in the publication of statistics

The Ministry of Education and Culture and Statistics Finland have agreed on the continuation of cultural statistics in 2025 with funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture (news of 14 November 2024). Cultural statistics will retain their position as Official Statistics of Finland (OSF). Statistics Finland publishes statistical data on culture on the web page of the statistics, in the database tables and in the Cultural Statistics’ table service.
In accordance with the agreement, Statistics Finland will produce two releases on cultural topics and the related database tables under the heading of cultural statistics in 2025: cultural education 2023 (to be published on 23 April 2025) and culture by regions 2024 (to be published on 5 December 2025). The release on culture satellite accounts 2023 will be published on 8 May 2025 similarly as before on the web page of the culture satellite accounts.
In addition, data based on the Labour Force Survey 2024 will be produced and published on cultural employment in connection with the updating of the Cultural Statistics’ table service on 23 April 2025. Database tables based on employment statistics 2023 concerning cultural employment will be published in connection with the release of employment statistics on 3 June 2025.
In addition to the above-mentioned data, good 70 files, including data concerning regional availability of culture in 2024, will be updated in the Cultural Statistics’ table service.
