Cultural statistics describe production, supply, finances, public support, labour force, education, interest in and consumption regarding various fields of arts and culture. The data are collected from various sources and published four times a year.

According to Statistics Finland's Labour Force Survey, the development of employment was again poor in cultural fields in 2021 due to the corona pandemic. According to the Labour Force Survey, employment in cultural industries was around 111,000 in 2020 and only about 108,000 in 2021. The employment of those working in cultural occupations as their main job also weakened, and was around 128,000 in 2021, while in 2020 it was still over 137,000. Cultural occupations also include self-employed persons, freelancers and persons working on a grant.
