National accounts: Changes to the addresses and structure of database tables in May and June

Information about the change
Key changes:
- Annual national accounts, quarterly national accounts and quarterly sector accounts will be discontinued as separate statistics and they will be combined into one set of statistics on 29 May 2026.
- At the end of May, quarterly national accounts will no longer be found as such in our web service. The name of the combined statistics will be national accounts.
- At the beginning of June, the structure of all Statistics Finland's database tables will be updated, and the change will affect queries made in the PxWeb API interface.
- In May, the combining of statistics causes changes to the addresses and names of database tables, but the content and structure of the tables remain unchanged at this stage.
Name of the combined statistics will be national accounts - quarterly national accounts will be discontinued
Annual national accounts, quarterly national accounts and quarterly sector accounts will be discontinued as separate statistics and they will be combined into one set of statistics on 29 May 2026.
In practice, this is done by combining annual national accounts and quarterly sector accounts as part of quarterly national accounts. The name of the combined statistics will be national accounts and after that, quarterly national accounts can no longer be found as such in our web service.
The discontinuation of quarterly national accounts is caused by that the change will be implemented technically by changing the name of quarterly national accounts to national accounts. The tables previously published in connection with the quarterly national accounts will continue to be found at the top of the list in the Px-Web database.
Two different changes in database tables in May and June
In addition, two changes will be made to the database tables of national accounts in May and June.
The main change is that the structure of Statistics Finland's all database tables will be updated at the beginning of June, and the change will have an effect on queries made in PxWeb API. The existing PxWeb API searches will be broken, and they must be updated to correspond to the new file structure. This change will affect all national accounts database tables.

More detailed instructions about correcting queries and the exact date of change will be published as soon as possible, and information about this will be posted on Statistics Finland's website.
In addition, the combining of statistics causes changes to the addresses and names of database tables in May, but the content and structure of the tables remain unchanged at this stage. However, the tables of quarterly national accounts can still be found at the same address as before, meaning that API searches for them are not broken at this stage.
