Health care professionals

The statistics contain data on licensed health professionals and health professionals with a protected occupational title. The Act (559/1994) and Decree (564/1994) on Health Care Professionals specifies occupational groups to be licensed as health professionals or registered as health professionals with a protected occupational title by the National Authority for Medicolegal Affairs (TEO). The annual statistics are based on data in the TEO register at the end of the year. The register provides data on for example the occupation/occupational group for which the right to practise a profession has been granted, vocational training and specialist vocational qualifications, sex, age, and municipality/ country of residence.
