Public sector research and development

The inquiry collects data on R&D expenditure and their funding, research personnel and staff-years.

The data are used for research and for monitoring and analysing the development of resources used on product and process development in public administration, business life, research institutes and organisations.

The inquiry concerns public organisations and research institutions in the public sector and the private non-profit sector that are assumed to be engaged in research and development. Included are also universities of applied sciences and university hospitals. The inquiry comprises approximately 180 organisations.
