Description
The statistics on labour disputes describe the labour disputes organised in Finland by employees or employers. Most labour disputes are strikes organised by employees. The extent of labour disputes is described with the numbers of employees having participated in them and with lost working days. Data on labour disputes are available quarterly.

The statistics on labour disputes contain data on the numbers of labour disputes, participated employees, lost working days and amounts of lost gross pay. Data can also be produced on locations, lengths, settlement types and legality of labour disputes.

Mainly compiled from data collected by employer organisations from their members. Different media are also monitored.

The yearly statistics are published about five months after the end of the reference year.

Data on labour disputes are available from the late 19th century, but exhaustive and classified data are available since 1971.
