Revised accounting practice in motor vehicle trade

Turnover in new car sales has been recorded according to a revised accounting practice since data concerning April. Motor car tax is no longer included in turnover as in the past. An estimation of the share of the motor car tax in last year's April-November has been removed from the annual change shown for this April-November.

Seasonal adjustment models have been revised

The seasonal adjustment models used were revised in connection with the calculation of the indices of turnover for October. The revisions influenced seasonally adjusted and trend series, but they did not influence original or working-day adjusted time series. The change percentages calculated from the original series were thus only slightly revised, and this was due to new data having become available. For more detailed information about the revised treatment of seasonal adjustment, see http://tilastokeskus.fi/ajk/tiedotteet/2009/tiedote_019_2009-12-08_en.html.
