Sales of retail trade grew by 5.6 per cent in August

According to Statistics Finland, retail trade sales rose by 5.6 per cent in August from August 2009. Sales volume also grew by 5.6 per cent during the same time period. Wholesale trade sales went up by 12.5 per cent and motor vehicle sales by 40.7 per cent. In total trade sales increased by 13.0 per cent in August.

Sales in retail trade rose by 3.3 per cent and in wholesale trade by 7.1 per cent in January to August compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. Motor vehicle sales rose by 15.2 per cent. In total trade sales were up in January to August by 6.8 per cent on the respective period of the year before.
