Wages and salaries sum fell by 2 per cent in September to November
The wages and salaries sum of the whole economy was 2 per cent smaller in the past September to November period than in the corresponding period twelve months before. In November alone the wages and salaries sum of the whole economy fell by 2,4 per cent. In the previous September to November period the wages and salaries sum grew by 6,7 per cent year-on-year.
The growth in the wages and salaries sum slowed down or turned negative in all main industries in the September to November period. The development in the wages and salaries sum of the whole economy was slowed down most strongly by falls in the wages and salaries sums in manufacturing (-10,5%) and construction (- 5,3%). The wages and salaries sum fell also in trade (-2,2%), other services (-1,8,%) and financial intermediation (-0,2%). In the private educational services sector and in private health and social work the growth in the wages and salaries sum slowed down slightly from the year before.
