In July 2013 the number of new passenger cars registered was 8,448
In July 2013 a total of 14,476 new motor vehicles were registered, of which 9,537 were automobiles. First registrations increased by 12.8 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year. In July the number of new passenger cars registered was 8,448, which was 30.8 per cent up from the year before. The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 34.2 per cent. The increase of new registered cars was due to automobile taxes which changed 1.4.2012. The number of passenger cars first registered in July has been on average approximately 9,700 during the 2000s. These data are based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency and they have been produced by Statistics Finland. The numbers are exclusive of the vehicles on the Åland Islands.
First registrations of passenger cars
In the January to July period of 2013 a total of 109,472 vehicles were first registered. Compared to the year before, there was a decrease of 13.5 per cent. The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to July period was 65,002, which is 11.4 per cent down from the year before. The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to July period were Volkswagen, Toyota and Ford.
