Index of producer prices of agricultural products rose by 16.7 per cent in January
The year-on-year change in the producer prices of agricultural products calculated by Statistics Finland was 16.7 per cent in January. The prices of crop products rose by 25.4 per cent. The prices of meat and animal products went up by 11.3 per cent. Prices of agricultural production inputs have gone up exceptionally much in a short time. Russia's attack on Ukraine also causes additional pressure to increase input prices. The effect of price changes on producer prices of agricultural products needs to be monitored more frequently. In future, the database tables of the index of producer price of agricultural products will be updated monthly at a lag of 45 days from the end of the statistical reference month.
