Turnover in service industries grew by 7.9 per cent in June to August
Turnover in service industries strengthened further in the June to August period of 2010, with a growth of 7.9 per cent from the corresponding period of the previous year. One year previously turnover of service industries contracted by 8.3 per cent. Services are here examined exclusive of trade and the data have been adjusted for working days by eliminating the effects of calendar variations from them.
Three months' year-on-year change in turnover in services (TOL 2008)
In June to August turnover of all service industries was growing compared with the respective three-month period one year earlier. Turnover of the largest group of service industries, i.e. transportation and storage, improved most and was 12.8 per cent higher than one year ago. Growth in the other groups of service industries was slower than in total services. Turnover increased least in the service industries of information and communication (4.7%) and other service activities (2.8%).
