Turnover in service industries grew by 7.7 per cent in July to September
Turnover in service industries continued to grow in the third quarter of 2010, with a growth of 7.7 per cent from the corresponding period of the previous year. One year previously turnover in service industries contracted by 9.2 per cent. Services are here examined exclusive of trade and the data have been adjusted for working days by eliminating the effects of calendar variations from them.
Three months' year-on-year change in turnover in services (TOL 2008)
Transportation and storage enterprises still continued as the growth engines for turnover in service industries, as their turnover grew by 12.6 per cent from the July to September period of last year. During the reference period, a growth of over seven per cent was attained in the turnover of accommodation and food service activities and of administrative and support service activities. The turnover of professional, scientific and technical activities went up by good six per cent from one year back.
