Turnover in service industries grew by 8.5 per cent in October to December

Turnover in service industries continued to grow in the last quarter of 2010, with a growth of 8.5 per cent from the corresponding period of the previous year. One year previously turnover in service industries contracted by 7.7 per cent. Services are here examined exclusive of trade and the data have been adjusted for working days by eliminating the effects of calendar variations from them.

Among the service industries, turnover grew fastest in administrative and support service enterprises, whose turnover increased by 12.6 per cent from the October to December period of the previous year. An over ten per cent growth was also recorded in the turnover of transportation and storage. The growth was slowest in other service activities and in information and communication.
