Turnover in service industries grew by 0.8 per cent in the first quarter of 2013 from the year before

Turnover generated by service industries grew by 0.8 per cent in the first quarter of 2013 when compared with the respective period one year previously. One year previously, turnover in service industries grew by 6.2 per cent. Services are here examined exclusive of trade.

Three months' year-on-year change in turnover in services (TOL 2008)

In the first quarter of 2013, turnover developed more slowly than last year in nearly all main service industries. Only in arts, entertainment and recreation activities turnover grew faster than one year ago. Turnover grew fastest in real estate activities, where it went up by 5.9 per cent from one year ago. In the January to March period, turnover contracted most in transportation and storage enterprises, where the drop from last year amounted to 1.1 per cent. In professional, scientific and technical activities, turnover decreased by 1.0 per cent. The turnover also contracted in administrative and support service activities, by 0.3 per cent compared with the same period last year.
