Among the main service industries, turnover grew fastest in real estate enterprises in the August to October period, where growth compared to the previous year amounted to 6.2 per cent. One year previously, real estate activities went up by 3.3 per cent over the same period. In August to October, professional, scientific and technical activities grew by 5.4 per cent from one year back, while one year before, the turnover of the same industry increased by 2.3 per cent.

Of the sub-industries of professional, scientific and technical activities, the most favourable development was seen in the turnover of research and development, which grew by 18.4 per cent from the corresponding period of the previous year. Of the sub-industries of professional, scientific and technical activities, the development was weakest in advertising and market research, whose turnover went down by 0.7 per cent from the previous year's August to October.

The prolonged strong growth in information and communication activities has turned downwards in August to October, being 0.8 per cent negative from one year ago. One year earlier, information and communications still grew by 13.4 per cent. The fall is largely explained by the 3.6 per cent contraction in computer programming from the previous year's August to October. Publishing activities also decreased by 3.5 per cent year-on-year. In contrast, among sub-industries of information and communication activities, information services activities have seen most favourable development, as turnover there went up by as much as 13.0 per cent in August to October year-on-year.

Of the main services industries, transportation and storage still developed weakest, as turnover fell by 2.6 per cent in August to October from the corresponding period of the previous year. One year previously, the annual change in the turnover of transportation and storage enterprises was 0.3 positive. Turnover development has become differentiated between the sub-industries of transportation and storage. In August to October, turnover developed best in water transport, which grew by 7.1 per cent from one year back. Over the same period, turnover in road and railway transport diminished by 3.4 per cent from one year ago. In turn, warehousing and support activities for transportation declined by 0.9 per cent year-on-year.
