Turnover of construction enterprises fell by over 5 per cent in January to March from the year before

The turnover of construction enterprises contracted by 5.4 per cent
in the first quarter of the year from the corresponding period of
the year before. The turnover of civil engineering fell by 9.6 per
cent and that of construction of buildings by 6.1 per cent. The
turnover of specialised construction activities decreased by 3.7
per cent in the January to March period.

The sales volume of construction enterprises was 7.2 per cent down year-on-year in the first quarter of 2013. The sales volume of civil engineering contracted by 10.6 per cent, that of building construction by 8.6 per cent, and that of specialised construction activities by 5.9 per cent.
The volume index of enterprises’ sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series.
